Have I mentioned before how much I dislike docker and Home Assistant?
In the campervan, I've put an old NUC running Proxmox. I've got VMs running #Zigbee2MQTT, #mosquitto, #NodeRed, #influxdb and #grafana. Rather than use the NodeRed dashboard, I thought I'd have another play with #homeassistant. Connectivity in the camper is via a #mikrotik LtAP which routes over WiFi if it's connected to the home network or LTE if not. The MTU is 1400.

Hm. #Victoriametrics is nice, but all the pre-made dashboards for #Grafana are either for Influx or Prometheus.

Prometheus I can work around (since VM supports PromQL), but it doesn't support influxQL. And I ofcourse have a few things that don't talk prometheus natively.

Monitoring POC with #telegraf, #Victoriametrics and #grafana seems to work.

Phew, managed to get rid of most of the #Kubernetes metrics I don't use in #Grafana. (And stay within the free tier.) Can strip off even more, but either need to do this on #Prometheus, or try my hand at #OTEL collector filtering:

Questions for #fediverse #SysAdmin folk who run #prometheus and #grafana on multiple #aws accounts:

Do you use a single Prometheus server or do you have one for each account?

How do you handle auto scaling EC2 servers which could change IPs at any time?

Is it possible for servers to push rather than get pulled from?

Please share any setups that could be relevant and boost far & wide!

Ich monitore Docker Umgebungen gerne via #cadvisor und #Prometheus in #Grafana.

Gerade aus Spaß mal #Telegraf statt #cadvisor zum sammeln von Container Metriken eingebaut und die gleichen Werte erwartet...

Aber die Werte sind bei weitem nicht gleich!

Telegraf zeigt mir wesentlich geringere Werte an als der cadvisor...

Hat da eins Erfahrungen mit?

Welchem Collector will ich eher trauen?
