Wulfy<p>I do some work for a <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/community" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>community</span></a> media organisation.</p><p>Today I rolled out <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/immich" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>immich</span></a><br>(<a href="https://immich.app/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">immich.app/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a>)</p><p>A self hosted <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/FOSS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FOSS</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/docker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>docker</span></a> stack media management solution.<br>It does images as well as video.<br>It's FANTASTIC.<br>Lets me rephrase that, ITS FUCKING AWESOME.<br>A decade ago, we were quoted $20,000 for a custom content indexing database.<br>Everyone was oohing and aahing at the demo.</p><p>The most obvious feature is timeline indexing (what photos we have from july 2007).<br>Accessible via a slider bar.<br>It also has a LOCAL <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/AI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AI</span></a>.<br>Basic, but very cool. Search for "Cars on the road" or "Drag queens".<br>Indexes content by people's faces.</p><p>Best thing is, I am running it on a shitty Intel NUC that the ops people hated because windows on it was so slow. With <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a>, it's just fast enough, although it took about 6 days to index all 33,000 <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/video" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>video</span></a> files on our core <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/NAS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NAS</span></a>.</p><p>Next deploy is my partners 15 years of phone media dumps on the home NAS.<br>Would also be perfect to organise ones <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/porn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>porn</span></a> collection, though strangely enough, I am no longer interested in that. Old age does funny things.</p><p>Highly recommended.</p>
