Good morning from Tokyo! The weekend is almost here, and until then, I have a few early-evening panoramic photos from Itabashi Ward taken last Wednesday on the way back from work.

In keeping with the ongoing rainy weather, here are a couple more rainy cherry blossoms from my area in Itabashi, Tokyo.
Good morning from Japan! It’s Wednesday, so I’m working at the office today, but it’s still cold & wet - so instead of sunny photos around Tokyo Station, here is a set of rainy cherry blossoms from yesterday. Slightly melancholic, but bright at the same time.
Hello from Tokyo on a cold, rainy and windy Tuesday! Trying to brighten the spirits with another set of four cherry blossom photos from last weekend's lovely Sunday afternoon here in the neighborhood of Maenocho in Itabashi Ward.

Happy Monday to all! Sunday brought better-than-expected weather, so after my previously mentioned musical adventure, the wife and I went around the neighborhood in Maenocho, Itabashi, where the cherry blossoms have now reached a quite nice stage. Here is a first set of four photos; another set will come tomorrow.

As mentioned earlier, I sat behind a drum kit for the first time in my life today. Here is a short clip from 30 minutes into the lesson of me drumming along to “Free as a Bird”. I feel I’m off to a reasonably good start.
Time goes by fast (I’ll turn 58 in April), and I won’t waste any more time postponing doing things I’ve always wanted to do. So today, I started taking drumming lessons. Great fun! Some cherry blossoms from the area (Komagome, Tokyo).
Happy Sunday from Tokyo!
Near Keage Incline in Higashiyama, eastern Kyoto (cf. my previous cherry blossoms post), is where the Philospher's Path starts. A set of seasonal film photography from this lovely area:
Mamiya 6, 50mm f/4
Fujicolor Pro 160NS
I had free-drink tickets for "Excelsior Caffe" that were about to expire - can‘t let that happen, so we went for a cafe lunch & dessert. Also made some reading time (German version of Stieg Larsson‘s first "Millennium" book)
Happy Friday from Tokyo!
The Keage Incline is a former railway in eastern Kyoto. In spring, it's a popular spot to view the cherry blossoms. A set of previously unpublished film photography:

Today’s Itabashi Cherry Blossoms; Mar 27, 2025
I went grocery shopping during lunch break. Here are some quick unprocessed photos I took to document the current stage of this year’s cherry blossoms.
A set of previously unpublished (except 2nd frame) cherry blossom film photography from Hikone Castle in Shiga Prefecture. I’m currently working on a new website (finally ditching WordPress) - all these photos (and a few more) will get a nice place there. I will share more information when the new site is live, which should be in around two weeks from now.

Good morning from Japan! Last week I had posted a snowy video from the office, yet here we are today just a week later, bound for early-summer weather. I took 2 panoramic photos of Tokyo Station this morning with the 65x24 app.
Happy Monday from Japan! After the warm weekend here, cherry blossoms should soon open in Tokyo, so I'll adjust my programming accordingly.
Starting with two photos from Iwakuni in Yamaguchi Prefecture - the first one being the scene around the famous Kintai Bridge, and the second one of a swan gliding on a pond in Kikko Park.
My wife‘s performance with the Gospel choir in Yokohama went well, I‘m so proud of her . She battled allergies and a cold, but fought through it like a champ. Some quick photos from the venue; last is a cropped still from a video I took.
Good morning from Tokyo on a lovely Sunday! Today, my wife will participate in a singing event in Yokohama, so I'll go out later to cheer her on. Here she is a couple of years ago, sat in a tatami room at Kenninji Temple in Kyoto.
Since this morning, the weather gods have been cranking up the drama a notch…
Good morning from Japan on a wet and cold Wednesday! Going to the office this morning afforded me a chance to take some rainy photos, mostly through my umbrella, in the Marunouchi area around Tokyo Station.
(Update: the rain has since evolved into a light snowfall)
Good morning from Tokyo! A new week is upon us - I hope it will be a good one for you all.
Starting off the week with a set of random evening photos from my home ward of Itabashi. Details in ALT texts.
Wife is feeling sick now, so I tried to cheer her up with this hand-made dinner of miso soup (with bok choy and radish), rolled omelet with seaweed, and chicken thighs with asparagus in honey mustard sauce.
