Why are the alt-key menu accelerators in the #KDE application launcher inconsistent sometimes? Like normally "Shut Down" is Alt-H but for some reason right now it's Alt-T as if it's trying to play a cruel joke on me or something?

The KDE team has created a wonderful Network for your Androids it's called Konnect and the things that it can do are so various that I'll just show you one of them in the included photographs
The ease with which I can control a music player that works on one Android from all my devices which run Konnect opens up possibilities which are just marvelous for a sound engineer like me
#KDE Discover's name seems appropriate. You search for the software you want, and you discover a lot of other software that is not what you wanted.
Search for "Nexcloud": Nextcloud is the 7th result
Search for "Firefox": Firefox it's the 7th result
Search for "Steam": Steam is the 40th result
Just tried the #COSMIC desktop environment. I find it far superior to #Gnome and quite a bit behind #KDE. The tiling isn't as useful (for me) on a laptop as I thought it would be. The settings section could be vastly expanded, although it's still early days so I'm not holding that against it. But there's currently one deal breaker for me and that's the audio widget. I need one with the features of the KDE widget. Volume per device, volume per app, audio device per app etc.

The Fosstodon Drama tells us a bigger problem about Mastodon
One of the #KDE devs needs help paying meds after an operation.
Does anyone know how to slow down the network selection refresh in #kde (from the panel)? Choosing a wifi network is a nightmare when they are jumping around so quickly
#Krunner froze my entire #KDE Plasma desktop just from writing up a 'long', simple math equation while I was calculating some of my expenses lol. My desktop is completely unresponsive now and I couldn't do anything about it, not even Caps Lock on my keyboard respond. All I can see is my applet that monitors RAM usage last reported to be at 97%.
I'm sure about half of it is probably #Firefox, but I'm also certain the rest was caused by Krunner since I wasn't really doing anything else - as much as I love KDE Plasma, time and time again I'm getting closer and closer to upgrading to 64GB of RAM, which sounds hellllla ridiculous for a regular ol' desktop and not a homelab server.
Forreal tho, as much as I despise #macOS, how is it that my #MacBook Air M1 can fly with pretty much the same workflow with just 8GB of RAM and never encounter any types of freezes, at most it just feels sluggish (which is just a regular macOS thing), meanwhile this much more powerful machine with 32GB of RAM just freaking... dies from doing simple math calculations on Spotlight?
Kdenlive 25.04.0 has been released. This version uses the Segment Anything Model 2 (SAM 2) from Meta to make Object Segmentation possible.
Segment Anything Model 2 (SAM2) is a foundation model for visual segmentation in both images and videos developed by Meta AI. It builds upon the original Segment Anything Model (SAM) and is designed for real-time interactive segmentation in videos and images.
Kdenlive 25.04.0 was released. This version brings OpentimelineIO import and export. Darby Johnston rewrote the OpentimelineIO import and export function using the C++ library. Now you can exchange projects with other editing applications that support this open source file format. Please note that effects, filters, and transitions are not exported as each application uses its own standard.
Kdenlive 25.04.0 has been released. The most impressive feature might be "Object Segmentation." This is possible because a new plugin based on the SAM2 model now allows you to create object masks to remove the background of your videos or apply an effect only to an object. All processing is done locally.
Enjoying this talk from @AleixPol on the desktop.
(btw I combo mobile and desktop as just "consumer grade linux", which is also awful lol)

#Apple software support for my old mbp ended November last year, and I have been pondering about a non Apple #arm replacement for a while, but I’m not sure #linux is quite ready yet with the qualcomm x elite yet. And finally I realised that I could just install #debian on the old laptop, it still runs fine. I must say its nice to be back on desktop linux after 10 years, much has improved! #kde
Trinity Desktop Environment R14.1.4 Released with Support for #Ubuntu 25.04 and Other New Features https://9to5linux.com/trinity-desktop-environment-r14-1-4-released-with-support-for-ubuntu-25-04
just finished watching the full thing, and yea - I guess I shouldn't be surprised by how many times he was being unnecessarily condescending in here, esp as a notable #KDE developer, considering how he did the same towards #AsahiLinux's Asahi Lina, who if we're comparing, is a much more significant developer/contributor to the #Linux space than he is (and ever will be).
The White male that Pewds is can easily take these jabs (if we're being realistic, not that he would even know of the existence of Nicco or his video), but yea you can tell I'm still very pissed by how condescending he was to Lina - whom was, mind you, at the time ALREADY super fucking overwhelmed and done with the White male dominated space that is the Linux kernel development community.
I can't stand snobs like this, even more so when the dude's constantly begging for money like he has absolutely none in 99% of his videos. Again, if we're comparing, the person that is Lina that he was mansplaining and downplaying her troubles/what she was facing, NEVER does that despite clearly, using up more of her precious time contributing to MORE meaningful things.
