PetaPixel: Scientists Create Incredible Tool That Realistically Relights Photos in 3D. “Researchers at the Computational Photography Lab at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada, developed a new software tool that can relight any photograph with precise physical-based controls, similar to what software like Blender can do with computer-generated graphics.”

Successful test of the right wing tip light assembly.

The electrical power was provided from the wing root, 25 ft away.

The first comments to this post will include some photos.

Because glider wings and winglets are removable, I had to make the wiring connections work despite repeated disassembly. I am using automotive door jamb connectors that are spring-loaded knobs or bullets of brass.

GZDoom with low resolution and software rendering, but added light effects.
Doesn't this look fantastic? The light effects blend in so well. Notice the reflection on the medikit.

I prefer playing with a low resolution because it's a more coherent look. Texture resolution, sprite resolution and geometry resolution line up nicely this way.

Also I love how the darker wall at the center is a bit purpleish. That is I think due to Doom's color maps, which often don't have a "linear" progression. Some pixels change their hue as they get darker, which can have some unique and great looking effects that are, I guess, more deliberate than calculated lighting in newer games.

Yippy kai yay, Torro II is here to stay! The slightly smaller brother of Torro I has also only three legs 🦿. A little bit lighter but still pretty heavy with its 3 kilo. It got slits horizontal and vertical plus.. circles from which all light shine through 🔆
