This little squirrel saw me coming from beyond the other side of the tree in the image and quickly hid behind it. When I walked past the tree it sat there hiding, keeping exactly still, not moving a hair. I quickly took a couple of pictures and then left it alone.

I have not seen a squirrel do this before, but my best guess is that it's a defensive behaviour to make it harder to spot.

Nilgai in hurry.

Nilgai (meaning blue cow) the name was first recorded in the late 1800s. They are not hunted by the big cats, and mostly back then hunted as game. So when their population was dwindling, the king decided to rename the animal as nilgai (supposedly) - the addition of Gai was expected to reduce their hunting. The plan definitely worked, and they have been pretty much not in any danger of extinction.

Fast forward to recent times, they are in large numbers, and some politicians have suggested to rename them again to remove Gai from the name, so they can be hunted and culled without any stigma and taboo - as they are becoming a "menace" to the farmers.

(the more we try to take over nature, forest and wild animal habitats, it's obvious the nature would try and reclaim it back)
