Hey #MiniaturePainting peeps, how do you feel about the different paint #storage solutions and what different sizes of bottles do you end up with.

I'm finally working on getting back to it after *many* years, and am trying to prep and get set up. Aside from general #craft paint 59ml bottles I've grabbed a Vallejo bottle and one of the squat GW citadel base ones for reference.

Saw some #3DPrinting solution in a recent video, but I think I need to design my own.

Next project I've been doing quietly in the background... Custom designing Gridfinity storage and such for the PaintPal system.

Still a lot of organizing to go, but finally have enough shelving to hold things in a handy place. Where the minis temporarily are is to hold paints I am using while painting instead of all over the desk.

I may print the back extensions so I can go 4x5 deep for paint brushes organizers and such.

I know you might have been mislead by my pfp, but the problem is that I have, first off, never been the one who paints minis. When I played D&D during lockdown my roommates painted so many minis but my hands are not steady and I doubt I could paint #Minis well. And, though the White Scars resonate with me I have heard tell that they are not particularly forgiving in that regard and might be a pain in the ass even for people who are good. #warhammer #40k

Still working on this sixth-rate. Pix when I finish, but right now, the colour scheme on the hull is giving me trouble. I'm trying for something gaudier, but it doesn't look right, and I sitll don't know what I want on the stern works.

But tonight was just spars, spars, far as the eye can see. There'll be a little touch-up, and then trestle trees, and then shading/dirtying the sails, but man, constant spars is tiring! The fourth-rate is gonna be a Project for real.

And the last ship of this set is done! The petite frégate L’Aurore. I’ve dialled in some things (decks! Sails, enough) and want to work on some things more (beakheads! Stern works! More interest on the outer hull!) but practice and experimentation are the names of the game!

Next are the sixth, fifth, and fourth rates. Much more naval, less ad hoc.
