@ami_angelwings Today's mood is "smitten". Bright Eyes' The Calendar Hung Itself is a blast of pure obsession. The protagonist has been physically struck down, coughing on a bathroom floor. He barely survives to the end of the song.

@ami_angelwings A song of self-forgiveness for #MoodMusicMonday : Julien Baker's "Claws In Your Back". Her debut album closed with the brutal "Go Home". It's about hitting rock bottom, with "more whisky than blood in my veins, more tar than air in my lungs", ending with desperation. On her sophomore album, the closer is equally powerful, but strikes a note of acceptance - "I think I can love the sickness you made. I changed my mind, I wanted to stay."
