America is built on prison labor. When will the labor movement defend prisoners?

“Incarcerated workers are a part of the working class,” award-winning journalist Kim Kelly says. And we are “not telling the real history of labor in this country if [we’re] not focusing on the organizing efforts and the labor of people who are in prison.”

4/ These positions could force a reckoning with #US #voters. Here is how:

Usually, #MAGA opposes whatever the #climate #movement supports. With this stance, MAGA might turn against #tariffs and #deportation. Already, both these ideas are polling negatively. In an ideal world, this would hasten the demise of these ideas among the majority of the voters. Hopefully, for good! Then we can resume the right approach of using #global #cooperation to address #climatechange.

#Poetry
Celestial Eyes
Must move , they say
Blinking as they reach the lines
The lines of horizon
Looking to see the depths of Poseidon
But till then, they shall Move Each Day

J. Ralph, “The Illusionary Movements of Geraldine and Nazu” 2005, featuring “One Million Miles Away”

This album is an odd one, comprising straight #symphonic tracks, some with #operatic vocals, as well as tracks with those elements integrated with pop melody and #turntabilism touches. “One Million Miles Away” is one of the latter.

I first heard this track in a car commercial that debuted during the 2001 Super Bowl; my search began. At great pains (old style, pre-#Shazam), I ID’d it as a hidden leading track on a 1999 CD “Music to Mauzner By.” by an artist known as SPY. A hidden LEADING track? I got the #CD but never figured out how to navigate to it and get it to play.

I am nothing if not persistent. Some years later I connected the SPY moniker to producer/composer J. Ralph and found “One Million Miles Away” as a listed, conventionally playable track on “The Illusionary Movements…” Sigh of relief.
