The larva lives mainly from the food of the ant larvae. It is protected from ant attacks by own dropping pieces (<a href="https://biologists.social/tags/skatoconches" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>skatoconches</span></a>). Pupation also takes place in this protected manner. <a href="https://biologists.social/tags/evolution" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>evolution</span></a> <a href="https://biologists.social/tags/biodiversity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>biodiversity</span></a> </p><p>© <a href="https://biologists.social/tags/StefanFWirth" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StefanFWirth</span></a> Berlin 2024</p>
