@ewen If online contact with any you're considering is something you may use then it can be fun to go and engage each of their online chat/AI/infuriation bots and see how long it takes to get through the shit and deal with an actual human. Tell them why you're contacting them and wish them a nice day.
I'm nearly done moving all my banking to one based, in part, on how that test went.
The SIX HOUR wait for a human on #NAB chat bot thing when they last screwed something up was the final straw.

@timrichards

“NAB had made an application for the default judgement that found in Williams's favour to be set aside.

The bank said it missed its deadline because it lost the paperwork served by Williams”

sez everything anyone needs to know about NAB. they are a monolith, and their customer service motto, ime, is “f*** you, we’re bigger than you are and there is nothing you can do about it”. the abuse really is systematic.

do i still have a NAB account? sure, but only cos i lack the means to live off the grid.

i don’t know how, but so far have managed to keep my apple wallet empty, and google has no real idea who i am.

as for Mr Williams, what enormous tenacity, and what excellent taste in scarves. all power to him.

'Radio as a whole failed to adapt and invest in the future when it needed to. That has now come back to hurt it.'

Perceptive comments from RadioInsight's Lance Venta about the failures of consolidation in the radio industry in the US (with a passing mention about similar situations in Canada and the UK). Venta's comments are in response to a recent speech by the president and CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters.

Most of my time in radio predated the mid '90s consolidation, which was driven by legal changes that dramatically reduced the limits on station ownership that had been in place in the US for decades. While I may occasionally wax nostalgic about those days, I am absolutely convinced the talent — to say nothing of community engagement — when radio stations were mostly locally or regionally owned was vastly superior to what can be found on broadcast stations today.

Radioinsight.com · More Consolidation Is Not The Answer to Poor Business DecisionsBy Lance Venta

Australia's banking system is rigged in favor of the big banks, leading to record profits for them while everyday Aussies struggle with rising interest rates and mortgage repayments. The lack of competition in the banking sector allows banks to pass on costs to borrowers without sharing the benefits with savers, resulting in a massive transfer of wealth from the average punter to bank CEOs and shareholders

We added our bark today to calling on ANZ, NAB and Westpac banks not to proceed with a $750 million loan to SANTOS to open more #FossilGas projects to cause more climate damages.

If you want to add your voice the humans at Australian Conservation Foundation have an email app to send emails to the bank CEOs, but do it this week. 🐶🐶
