And another one: what's at the core of your pagan practices/lifestyle or however else you refer to it?

Personally for me, it's the wheel of the year based on the Sun's relationship to the Earth, seasons, nature and connection to nature. I think of gods and mythical creatures as metaphors, as entities living in our collective mind, something like that. I'm not sure I know how to explain it better.

Also, I belong to Balts and live where they lived. Also known as the last pagans of Europe because christianity came here late and was foundly fought against. Many practices survived christianity because it was hard to fight them, so they were successfully incorporated into christian practices - saved from the enemy through enemy itself (but didn't it happen like that everywhere?). I grew up with christianity and paganism both practiced at home, in school and society without conflict between them. All that with geographical influences (and my ancestry, as far as known) from Norse, Slavic and Germanic traditions. So, I explore paganism from this perspective, and learning and deepening my knowledge about Baltic, Slavic, Germanic and a bit Norse paganism is a part of my pagan path.

But mostly, for me it's all about nature. Understanding, learning, feeling, using, honouring, buliding and nurturing my relationship with the land I walk.

Anyways, what's the center of your pagan path?

Just in case, if you needed this info 🤔... This is the color you get, if you dye eggs with polypores (aka shelf or bracket fungi).

I'm on the path of exploring polypores, a lot to learn, definitely not enough of info, a lot of surprises. And I don't know the name of this one.

But natural dyes... well, weirdly enchanting. It draws you in very gently and smoothly, and soon you don't have a free pot for soup because there is some plant or mushroom in those pots soaking in water with fabric, eggs, paper... 🙄

Anyone else here exploring and experimenting with natural dyes (in any form?)

Dhá Dhrom, Canfea, or the Ardgroom Stone Circle in the Beara Peninsula in Ireland.
Stone circles, dolmen, burial mounds and springs are important in my practice as places of power. These ancestral sites are tremendously powerful. These are the thin places, and by becoming still you can commune with the spirits of place. By honouring these spaces you step into the traditions of ancient humans, and you take your natural place as a being that is part of this great web.

Traveling by pirogue is a common way of transportation for the Huni Kuin people who live along the Jordão River in the state of Acre, Brazil. These watercraft are essential for accessing remote areas and navigating the region's network of rivers.

🌟 My first post here on **Pixel Art**, and it was already a magical moment! 🌿✨

I was at an amazing restaurant in the countryside of São Paulo, surrounded by mountains, farms, and that calming green scenery. The place is known for its regional dishes, and of course, I couldn’t resist trying everything! 🍴😋

While I was enjoying my meal, the cutest little dog showed up, sat on the floor, and stared at me with that "can I have a bite, please?" face. 🐶❤️ I took the opportunity and snapped a selfie with him! Look how beautiful it turned out! 📸

I love these spontaneous moments life gives us. 💚 Have you ever experienced something like this? Tell me in the comments! 👇

A bit more about me:

Photography has been my anchor through life’s challenges, including losing my first love to cancer, battling mental health struggles, and surviving sepsis earlier this year.

It’s taught me to slow down and find joy in the little things—like the way light filters through the trees or the texture of moss on a quiet morning.

Nature has a way of healing, doesn’t it?

What inspires you most about being outdoors?

Hi there! It’s been a while since I’ve posted, so here’s a quick reintroduction.

I’m Tim, a woodland and nature photographer with a deep love for capturing the beauty of trees and natural landscapes. My photography focuses on mindfulness, connection, and the magic of slowing down to truly see the world around us.

If you love photography, nature, or mindfulness, you’re in the right place!

Paul Moseley : EthnoecologyNeo-Indigeneity: Reconnecting with the Land in the British Isles — Paul Moseley : EthnoecologyIt all begins with an idea.

Our sea has such a profound influence on our connection to our Island of Rubha Phoil on Skye.
.
• We share our sea with whales, dolphins, seals, otters and dozens and dozens of beautiful species of birds
• The wildlife under the surface of the sea too is super rich.

Our sea is among some of the main things we love and depend on as an Island culture.

Now imagine there was huge volumes of traffic being shipped in and out through these waters.

• Ecosystems will be disrupted
• Wildlife would decrease
• Pollution would increase

The things that make our Island such an attractive location are the very things that will be destroyed as a result.

We need to come together and create a network.

A network that can create a more sustainable model where…
• Culture
• Heritage
• Community
• Wildlife
are all at the forefront of our tourism industry

‌Join our the network. Connect with us.

Can you imagine changing the ferry in this view for a 2000 passenger cruise ship?

Well this is planned for Armadale ferry on Skye!

But what does this mean for our communities and ecosystems?
• More tourists shipped in and out just for a quick selfie
• More air pollution, noise pollution & sea pollution
• More demand for short term lets

And this leads to…
• Less interest in the culture of our island
• Less balance in our ecosystems
• Higher property prices, working age people priced out of our community!

And this is just scratching the surface!

Yes we want tourism!

Its one of the biggest opportunities we have as an Island economy in such a beautiful location.

But at what cost?
• The cost of our communities?
• The cost of our ecosystems?
• The cost of our culture?

These are the very things that make our island so desirable in the first place!

To not put our communities, ecosystems, and culture first, we risk loosing it all.

Lest restructure how tourism works on the Island!

Knowledge of the history of the land is important!

Rubha Phoil has been inhabited by people, likely, for many thousands of year. We can see traces they left behind the landscape.

We can learn so much from them. How they harvested water, how much fitter they were than modern humans, where they build their shelters, how much they were connected with the sea...

We also need to be aware that due to the history of Rubha Phoil, the Rock belongs to the community.

That is why the ownership structure is slowly changing.

If you want to be part owner of Rubha Phoil, you can register on our Virtual Village and help us transfer ownership to you

We received a nice message from a young woman that came to stay with us for a month during her travels around Europe.
It warmed our hearts!
” I wanted to thank you once more for opening Rubha Phoil to me and letting partake in the magic. A few months later and I still think that, that was my most transformative place (on my travels). I would love to hear from you!
Greetings from Portugal this time.”

Nature is its own recycling centre

Our Ecosystems work in cycles

A big part of connecting with nature is being able to tap into these cycles.

To work with the cycles of nature...

Not against them.

So we have installed a hydroponic system in the polytunnel.

Using plants, bacteria and clay pebbles as a natural filtration system, our garden produces fish and vegetables on autopilot. No more need to farm fish or salmon in the sea. It can be done on land without causing pollution.

It's funny how nature seems to provide the best solutions. How adding simple technology in harmony with nature, can add so much value for humans too.
