Generally, we talk about similarities, but mice learn slower. Rats show the transition from wait zone to <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/precommitment" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>precommitment</span></a> in the offer zone in a few days, while mice take a lot longer.</p><p>Another space where I think there have been rat and mouse comparisons (although I don't find any explicit comparisons) is in the place field stability literature. My memory is that Cliff Kentros had really cool data on (<a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/PlaceCell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PlaceCell</span></a>) <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/PlaceField" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PlaceField</span></a> stability as a function of <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/hippocampus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hippocampus</span></a> <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/dopamine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>dopamine</span></a> levels and task. (<a href="https://www.nature.com/articles/s42003-022-04235-6" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">nature.com/articles/s42003-022</span><span class="invisible">-04235-6</span></a>) Rats tended to live on the high-DA (place cells are stable) side while mice tended to live on the low-DA (place cells are unstable) side. But both could be manipulated with tasks and <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/dopamine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>dopamine</span></a> (ant)agonists. I don't know if anyone explicitly looked at this.</p>
