We believe in community.

The social 'town square' done right - a place where we don't shout at each other from across the cobblestones but a place where we coexist and find our people in the cafes and social spaces around the square 🏙️

We're working on something that can replicate this feeling, across multiple platforms. No more FOMO. A lot more community.

Make sure you're following us to stay up to date 👀

Flickr Blog: Community awaits on Flickr – Find it on Discover . “Flickr groups are where ideas spark, connections thrive, and stunning photos come to light. To put it simply, Flickr groups are the heart of the Flickr community and because they are so important, we’ve designed a new page that will make it even easier for you to find groups that are a great match.”

Rock Paper Shotgun: What is a “hangout game”?. “Identifying a new genre is a fool’s task, but I’ve never been wise. Sometimes a blossoming genre can be obvious, as when a huge success like Doom or Dark Souls comes along and inspires games for decades to follow. But sometimes a new genre is quiet, low-key, hiding just beneath the surface of a tumultuous industry. Sometimes you have to go […]

Notre Dame: Bots increase online user engagement but stifle meaningful discussion, study shows. “The team noticed that as the presence of reflexive bots (those that generate and share content) increases, there are more connections between users. The reflexive bots post content that facilitates more opportunities for users to find novel content and engage with others. But this happens at the […]

University of Oslo: “We are in the midst of a digital backlash”. “An increasing number of individuals today recognise the drawbacks of a mobile and screen-based lifestyle, according to media researchers at the University of Oslo (UiO). This perspective marks a shift from the optimism that dominated when the internet became widely accessible at the turn of the millennium.”

Michigan Daily: Down with discussion boards. “Discussion boards are supposed to encourage critical thinking, but more often than not, they end up being a lesson on how to do the bare minimum for credit even if you read and learn all the material. This defeats the original purpose of sharing ideas and having real conversations to learn alongside your peers. For pre-health students juggling […]

Before I dig into it, at all, what does my corner of the fediverse think about #Drupal in 2025? I'm doing some investigating to determine if it is a solution for a small community project that I'm pondering.

In 2023 I would have installed Wordpress with bbPress and an events plugin, but this is 2025, and we all know what uncertainty that photomatt has introduced into that ecosystem.
