I’m embarrassed to admit how many sampling heads I tried before I realized I had the wrong vertical mode selected.
5. It was 5.
Also the graticule lights just went out, and the readout is on the fritz again (both voltage and time displays are incorrect). I seem to remember that from this mainframe. The Tektronix readout system on the 7k series is the work of a mad genius.

Here's a clearer picture of what the scope displays.
This is kind of fun. Using an infrared receiver module (TSOP38238) to display the signals produced by a Blu-Ray player remote control on an oscilloscope. The signals are active-low and pulse-width modulated.
It got worse before it got better. The #tektronix 7D20 digital #oscilloscope plugin had 3 bad RAM chips, as indicated by the self test, which caused some anomalies in the displayed waveform, but no other issues. I removed the chips and put in sockets, but one of the replacement 4116 RAM chips was also bad, in a way that caused the entire display to go south. I didn’t realize until a read through the manual that the waveform memory is also used to store readout data in its way to the DACs.
@RueNahcMohr Later on, @havy decided to buy more of the BNC-to-RCA adaptors for the scope, but in another shop (gme.cz). I browsed the e-shop and noticed they have even better adaptors from BNC: to screw terminal and to banana plugs usable as a screw terminal, too. The second one has a neat hole for holding a wire.
So my bf (@havy) bought some. Btw, all photos in this thread are taken on his phone.
These screw terminals are quite useful when using a breadboard.
(But not perfect for fast signals, of course…)
I have to ask Dima @dimpase, my fellow behind-the-Iron-Curtain denizen: mate, do you recognise these older Tektronix oscilloscopes?
Some of the 1950s Tektronix scopes in this Tek museum in Oregon look remarkably like the then-new Soviet scopes supplied to my engineering school in Burma, back in the 1980s.
Found a low mileage #nikon D810 for a good price and decided to take the plunge.
Here’s a #tektronix type O operational amplifier plug-in in a Type 132 power supply, which lets one operate a plug-in outside of its host #oscilloscope.
2 flash setup, one with a soft box, the other a bounce. 105mm #macro lens.

Is it possible to play doom on an oscilloscope using only lissajous figures?
Here it is in action numerically solving the Lorenz Attractor differential equations.
The #Rigol DHO814 (100 MHz, 12-bit, 4-channel) digital #oscilloscope is hard to beat for the home #electronics laboratory market.

I'm pondering getting an oscilloscope for the laptop, i.e. one of those external cards that you plug into your computer. Any suggestions?
