So, I've started a new quilt. It will be made with hexagons, completely yellow or gold, and I hope, it will look like a honeycomb. I have about 160 hexagons right now, I need about 450. #Patchwork

I have finished the hot water bottle cover. There is a rainbow pattern on the front, and the back is light blue. (I made myself some pyjama bottoms from the same material) #Patchwork

Quilt update, Trip Around The World

When I placed all 16 blocks on my bed (see beginning of this thread), I looked at the picture often to see why the blocks did not make sense to me. When I found that it was because of the square of aqua-colored blocks in the middle, I decided to unpick and start over after adding in an extra row of smallers blocks.

After unpicking all 56 blocks, I ironed them again and I removed the bits of fluff/thread as best as I could.

Of course, when adding in an extra row, the size of the quilt grew again. My bed is not very large, so a 240x240 cm quilt would dwarf my bed, making it very cumbersome to move and use. With the additional rows, I can now change the design from a 4x4 block finish (240x240 cm) to a 3x3 block finish (180x180 cm), which also made picking and choosing the KFC fabrics for the middle slightly easier.

I have one new block finished, the other 8 blocks have been pinned out ready for sewing. As I'm progressing, I'm starting to think of the binding for this quilt: I do not want to add a border, and a scrappy binding feels too busy. I am leaning towards a plain color. I have two options for the backing, both would work great with plain colors as well.

First up: continue to finish the eight large blocks!

shoutout to the amazingly talented @dressdeveloper for this hood pattern!

at dressdeveloper.com one can input measurements to generate all sorts of free sewing patterns from dresses to jumpsuits and more. the patterns pop up as neat pdf files ready to be printed. i used this incredible platform to create a detachable hood for a quilted vest i’d made.

@dressdeveloper’s talent for sewingXcoding blows my mind! thank you so much! totally amazing!

Yesterday I was unwrinkling my brain with embroidery, and redid this flower at least three times before I was happy with it, and then something clicked and it felt like I unlocked another level on the embroidery skill tree... Anyway, it's not done yet, but I think it might turn out pretty nice!

Dwi wedi gwneud darn o ddefnydd clytwaith ar gyfer ffrwnt y clawr botel dŵr poeth. Wna i ddefnyddio defnydd plaen ar y cefn. Mae darn 'ma yn fwyaf na dwi angen, wna i dorri i'r maint cywir. #Clytwaith

I've made a piece of patchwork material for the front of the hot water bottle cover. I will use plain material on the back. This piece is bigger than I need, I'll cut it to the right size. #Patchwork
