Three good things today:
- Some of our periwinkle flowers are starting to bloom. I took a picture of one of them.
- I had a calm, reasonably productive day at work today.
- My three year old son confidently saying "today" when he means "tomorrow". He even clarifies by saying "today, after we go to sleep and wake up" and will correct me if I attempt to correct him. I find it funny 😁.

A purple periwinkle flower with 5 petals. The three upper petals are bending a little so it kind of looks like a propeller. The flower is on a vinelike stalk with smooth edged, pointed leaves. The leaves are in opposite pairs along the stalk and have green and light green regions and are pale on the borders. In the background there are brown leaves and a stone wall.

Common periwinkle or vinca minor is a perennial herb native to Europe and western Asia. It grows all over the US now. It is toxic to humans and animals so no munching on this plant. It is used as groundcover but can become invasive. It is currently invading my back yard from a neighbor's and I can't kill it.
