This is an expecially good time to be around #XMPP
#profanity and #poezio were recently updated, while #gajim (and soon #converse.js) got a new major release. These are all #XMPP clients, if you're not familiar with those names: first 2 are console-based, while gajim is a desktop client and converse.js is a web client.
Even #Movim (web client) will have another big release soon, supporting #audio #video #calls and #screensharing.. Want to give it a go?

I prefer the new xeps 0373 and 0374 "OpenPGP for XMPP" (OX) over the old xep 0027, but unfortunately no mobile client supports it yet. Afaik only #gajim and #profanity support it. #xmpp #pgp

Es gibt sehr viele gute Software. In der Familie sind für uns XMPP Clients ganz wichtig. Wir verwenden diese zum chatten, telefonieren, video calls.
In der Familie wird meist der Andorid Client #Conversations verwendet oder #Monal für iOS. Ich selber verwende #profanity und #gajim. Die Kinder verwenden #dino.
Die Server #prosody und #ejabberd dürfen auch nicht fehlen.

Last time I tried #libervia-tui, it was a little bit messy. That's why I typically recommend #profanity and #poezio (or maybe #mcabber, if encryption is not needed) as #Jabber clients for the terminal. If libervia-tui has improved, I can add it to my (mental) list 
Btw. libervia-cli, the command line interface, is just great as #XMPP swiss army knife!

I'm aware of two console/terminal #Jabber/#XMPP clients with support for #OMEMO encryption: #Profanity by @profanity and #Poezio. Did you try one of the two?
