@ajsadauskas @JessTheUnstill also #BlackBerry's #PlayBook #Tablet was released as a accessory screen for their Phones, which gave it "#WiiU-Effect" in terms of marketing.

  • Plus #RIM relying hard on business clients and their proprietary applianced mail systems and having big carriers upsell to business people made them look outdated & quite literally out of touch once #iPhone went mainstream.

I mean, the hardware was never their problem and #SMS-Typists swear by their #BlackberryCurve's #keyboard but BlackBerry's #toolchain - just like #SymbianOS's - was just hideous to the point that devs like @fuchsiii didn't even want to try making #Apps for those devices.

  • Unlike #Mozilla fucking up #FirefoxOS by refusing to sell devices to #developers, by the time RIM & #Nokia came from their high horses, their market shares had been squeezed into mere "rounding errors" by #iOS and #Android as it was way cheaper and easier to get #Apps developed, tested, sold, bought and use them than on their devices.

#Sony even released some #Symbian #S60 devices but since they didn't have the same signing keys, one couldn't even #sideload apps (not to mention they didn't had the #OviStore on those either!)...

Es ist gut, dass die #BV2 endlich auf die Eingabe von rd. 50 DLF-Mitarbeitenden eingeht. Die Bauarbeiten der #NordSüdStadtbahn schreiten voran und eine über zehn Jahre alte Planung von Radwegen in Mittellage #RiM wird ohne Rücksicht auf neuere Erkenntnisse umgesetzt. Für den ADFC hatte ich bereits eine Stellungnahme formuliert.

Had a rather annoying, yet upon reflection, hilarious #PEBKAC moment. I was trying to help my grandmother ensure her computer is in order, and decided to try Remote Incident Manager #RIM. Just my luck, I missed the free promo period. Got it working, then she called for dinner time, and I kept trying to invoke the RIM menu with the keyboard shortcut Windows+shift+backslash, rather than Windows+shift+backspace, so obviously the RIM menu would not invoke so I could end the session, I got frustrated, went for dinner, and came back to an expired demo period for the day. No one's fault but my own. LOL. Fortunately, my brother was there and was able to read the screen. Its a neat product, has its uses, demographic and target audience. I don't care for perpetual software subscriptions, so its not for me. but it does what it is designed to do, and it is easy to use, when the person using it knows what they're doing. Backslash does not eqal backspace. LOL. I may get her to spring for a Windows Pro license so I can Microsoft RDP to it via the VPN. If I could get used to NVDA object nav, I'd just do it with the remote addon. But it is so not like the JAWS cursor, I still can't wrap my head around it, and I've read the many tables of hundreds of NVDA keyboard shortcuts. I guess I'm just getting old.
