#sagafta really interesting interview tonight on #LastWord with Justine Bateman. As an actress/filmmaker and importantly a computer scientist she has some really good insights but also some blinders.
She gets that AI and tech is going to radically change how content is made. No need for sets, workers, grips - vast swaths of the industry basically disappear. That movies will won't even be copyrighted b/c they'll be pushed out so fast (maybe that's a bit much)... But she said they'd be able to put *you* in the generated content for an upsell of course. Of course now imagine they use your search history to build a movie for you good n bad lol
What she doesn't see is that 'human' content is going to end up being high end porn. Basically a niche in the genre that no longer drives the main lane. It won't be that drastic of course, but it's inevitable as cheap generative content floods the field
