A woman can now know if she is pregnant two hours after taking a new test. This while-you-wait test costs £2 2s at the Family Centre run by the London Foundation for Marriage Education.

After twelve hours, the Duchess of Argyll completed her evidence in the divorce action brought by the Duke. The Duchess is accused of multiple acts of adultery. The hearing continues today.

For those wondering how my charity scooter ride went - here's my scooter and my travelling buddy, Max, across the finish line in Welly - over $2000 raised. THANK YOU GREATLY to my sponsors, and to those who provided direct support with transport, accommodation, and hospitality - it wouldn't have been possible without you. Back home and recovering for the last couple of days, many photos to come 😁🤣

@cstross

The rozzers's Twitter post is cropped there.

From hunting up the original image, it's visibly not even a motorized scooter. There's no transmission nor motor connected to either axle of the scooter, nor any transmission connected to the axles of the exercise machine.

It's a plain human-propelled ("kick"/"push") scooter with an exercise machine on top. I'm guessing that it's just for sitting on whilst coasting.

It's really annoying that the word "scooter" can mean any of these things. I wish we'd start disambiguating them verbally. I wish I could use different words for each of them when writing, so my readers wouldn't be confused what type of vehicle one of my characters is riding.

Specifically, he's riding type 3 (the angular brown one), and I really don't want people thinking it's type 1 (the black, stick-like thing that says "Ducati" on the front).

@andycarolan Electric #Scooters would be a game changer.

If we as a business could be insured to ride them then our other "local" delivery are #Nottingham would allow a train journey, scoot around, maybe a tram, back on the train.

But we use the car because that's what we're allowed to do. That's what is built for. Car is an ULEV but it wouldn't be as good as public transport & scoot.

Getting a #cargobike on the train isn't a guarantee so not a chance worth taking. Time is money after all.
