Dysmorphia💛🤍💜🖤Trying out the newish cafe at Mission and Valencia, Finjan Qahwa, as my writing spot. It’s somehow cozy and roomy at the same time. I used to get my best writing done at the Blue Danube in the Inner Richmond when I lived there. I never found another place that gave me the feeling in Noe. Now 3 years in the Mission and I think this may be the one? I will see. It’s open very late, like Muddy Waters used to be. But unlike Muddy Waters the tea is good. Coffee I have yet to try. EniaI keep meaning to post about it, and it feels particularly appropriate with GGP not available for recreation this weekend. I've been spending a ton of time in downtown <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/SanMateo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#SanMateo</a> lately, and I want to recommend it to y'all. My reasons: a) Caltrain accessible and all the things I'm recommending are within walking distance from the train. b) excellent food: tons of interesting Asian restaurants, there's like 4 separate ramen spots alone that are visit worthy. So much boba. A hype bakery. A beer garden cofounded by Kenji Alt-Yoshino. You get it. c) Draeger's is a fancy grocery store, and on Saturdays they have a farmers market outside. I really enjoy their confectionary department and all the European goods that are hard to find elsewhere. d) Central Park! Yes, that's what they call it. The Walgreens in my own neighborhood was a really sad, run-down place, but I never once saw anyone attempt to do shoplifting there.
