Like #SoftwarePiracy, #AdBlocking actually helps the big corporations keep or even grow their market share, while it kills the little players. It essentially drives centralization.

Also, in regards to newspapers: the subscription model rarely works for local papers, and it may be a reason for why content is getting so radical. In politics, one reason for why the center is falling may be because classifieds no longer work, and people don't want to pay for content that challenges their worldview.
