It’s in the right place, a struggling part of downtown. It’s tied to transit. It asks for no direct local subsidies and agrees to mitigate its impact on a nearby neighborhood. They soak up subsidies, overwhelm neighborhoods, increase traffic and parking … and are ugly to boot. So it’s worth celebrating the exception, which is Oracle Park in S.F.
