Tensegrity sculptures. 1/2
This was made from semicircles of spring steel, held in place with string and a shape suspended in the centre with polymer rigging line.
Tensegrity sculptures seem to break reality and are only 1 cut string from collapse.
Short video to give a look around the sculpture.
Stances over the rightness or wrongness of an action taken depend on a sadly conventional narrative genre.
Yet when it's turtles all the way down, a mid-stack burp, that fails to send the lot tumbling down… is but so much gas.
#Tensegrity Membrane Structure
I don't think I've seen a design like this before.
> MOOM" is a temporary experimental space and the realization of a new type of membrane structure.

@fleeky I've always wanted to try to make a yurt-like structure out of two tensegrity prisms (of five or more sides) stacked on top of each other. The upper one would be skewed to form the roof. This saves a lot of sticks, and might work better for y'know easy origami deployment.

I am curious about why posture varies among different people. I think that the normal posture depends on the lengths and stiffnesses of the various muscles and tendons. But these tissues are systems that change with applied demand, so I expect posture will change depending on people's activity patterns. I started thinking like this after learning about tensegrity. Anyone know where I could learn more about this?

Those beknottedly bound up in #tensegrity—in unfulfilled retrofuture promises—do not live in any present; thus have no succession of futures.
They cannot "live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us", for they are still living as they were once told they would live—in deference to all that was once before them.
Remembering only "those times and places" that are not to be.
Which is to say, when we say to the world, "But have you seen our police‽" Yes, they have.
They've also seen our devotional politics, our #KayfabePanto. Far more than they would care to.
They've likewise seen our oligarchs, common enough, and far more strikingly, our #perquisitive #classposture.
For how—with our empire of consensus media—could they not?
It is the five estates, not merely the #FifthEstate, that together uphold #tensegrity
Police are but one beam of a whole to be dismantled.
Yes, Usian #FifthEstate has unprecedented power as compared to police as experienced in other places and times.
Absent a concerted check on systems of power, a massive disruption of and dismantling of all the five estates of #RentierSociety, the fifth estate will only further concentrate and intensify its unrivaled capacity for violence.
Generations of #tensegrity ratchet will not be unwound easily. Nonetheless a system that harnesses gravity to hold itself aloft offers no promise of collapse.

This is #tensegrity. That is, what intersectionality is meant to mitigate against; what solidarity is meant as an answer to.
Don't deal with the underlying problems of #RentierSociety, the radical coloniality, that is the root, of the tree.
Just camp out on this branch, build one's tree-house, and declare everything else someone else's issue.
The thing is, one will never uproot a tree from the comfort of one's treehouse.
Apology unnecessary.
#Classposture is distinguished from categorical class—as how one holds oneself in material relation:
https://disabled.social/@beadsland/112375301573112937
That is, is about situational power rather than hierarchical status:
https://disabled.social/@beadsland/112332619308188854
Classposture may also be thought of in terms of silhouette—#tensegrity in tableau:
https://mastodon.social/@beadsland/109333885994864141
Which is to say, unlike categorical class, classposture speaks to a social phenomenology (praxiography), rather than an economic ontology.
This is #tensegrity
Don't talk about the issues. Don't talk about the risks.
Not when there's a health supremacist derogation right there to level against an individual.
