National Independent Venue Alliance told #DOJ #FTC it would ultimately prefer breakup of consolidated #LiveNation arms into four separate #LiveMusic industry companies.

#NIVA filed briefs suggesting separation of the #Concert #ticketing, from the production and #advertising & #sponsorship wings, while #Artist management activities be split off as well after both federal #GOV agencies jointly requested public input on “unfair practices in the live #entertainment marketplace.”

NIVA was founded in 2020 as a #collective live music industry voice during #COVID pandemic when most #events were cancelled and staff and #venues faced dire straits financially.

Looks like no more riding #PKPIC trains on urban transport tickets in #Łódź starting July, probably. According to Rynek Kolejowy (rynek-kolejowy.pl/wiadomosci/l), the city decided not to negotiate the separate agreement PKP Intercity wanted, having apparently concluded it should be the voivodeship or ŁKA that handles these things… While regional trains run by ŁKA, Polregio and KW are still in scope and seem to run at fairly reasonable, if not urban rail, headways, it's still a shame. In Switzerland it isn't so weird to take a short IC ride on a local ticket…

ŁKA tickets can still be used on PKPIC between Ozorków, Zgierz (no Stryków line), Koluszki and Pabianice as before - the whole thing started when (I'm fairly sure) that agreement was renewed and PKPIC had it reworded to only apply to ŁKA tickets in particular and not tickets valid on ŁKA, a principle I'm pretty sure was introduced due to a bunch of track works that reduced capacity for locals (and Łódź was also doing a lot of track works on the tram system).

For the last few years, Łódź was very unusual among Polish cities in having this universal recognition of tram/bus tickets in all trains within city limits, though it's also fairly unique in that it has no single main station in the city center which is the obvious place to take all the trains from, they're still building a tunnel to make that happen. Instead, railways form… not quite a ring, more of a weird teardrop shape around the city (missing curves in Zgierz and Widzew mean you have to change directions at least once, if you want to serve Dąbrowa and Zarzew twice, to circle the city), leaving them a unique, though less generally useful, niche.

And in case you're asking how validating paper bus tickets works/ed on PKPIC, the answer is simple: either come with an already validated ticket, or… simply write the date and time (DD.MM.YYYY hh:mm) in something permanent (I assume a ballpoint pen is sufficient) and board!

Mastodon Poland波鉄

They could go a long way towards solving this problem just with some very basic and obvious communication when you're buying train tickets.

I recently bought a train ticket that said "This ticket can only be used at certain times", but it did not tell you what those times were. Did nobody think that might be quite important and useful information?

“The problem: SNCF’s own searches cannot ever show you connections involving more than two changes. And – importantly – this limitation in SNCF’s system is just passed straight across to the resellers”

This has become a hot topic since the Oasis ticket frenzy (and to be clear, if they were playing in my back garden I'd close the curtains), but ticket pricing has been out of control for a long time. The reasons for that are also linked to why so many grassroots venues are struggling; youtube.com/watch?v=u--se25_px

@bigTanuki @BillySmith I'm convinced @frameworkcomputer uses #GoogleForms not as a sole tool, but merely #ingress pipeline for their #support workflows, so there is like demand to design a whole workflow and architecture from the ground up to handle and process supoort queries.

Maybe someone will enhineer somethibg aroubd #Gitlab or #Girea's #issue #Ticketing system?

I am however shure something like a customer chat can be done with like #Zulip and for #RemoteDesktop-based #TechSupport there's an excellent tool called "#Dayon!" which is super easy to use for the support-requesting side, doesn't rely on centralized services being available and only needs a few settings by the supporter to get up and running...

  • If I were running my own company, I'd propably sponsor the development of Dayon to the same amount as it would cost to pay for AnyDesk instead!

For more than 30 degreeasons we took the bus for two stops. Tickets available at the driver. But no card payment (in a country where you casually pay by card at the bakery) and no big bills (like 50€) either. So we had no way to pay. Someone beeped his pass for us. Thank you so much, stranger! We will pass it on.
