My bees are producing young which is a good sign that they are thriving! I'm very happy to see several frames of brood in there now. A lot of it capped. There are a lot of uncapped eggs and larvae too. I have a picture of the queen, Bee Arthur, she is circled in blue.

The solid yellow caps on the 1st picture are brood or bees about to hatch. They have a fair amount of honey and pollen spread around too.

Well...darn, I forgot to come here today with all of the little things I was doing to get the yard prepped to mow the lawn tomorrow...saw the weirdest thing from Stupid on the outdoor ride...he was lying down right next to a car in a driveway across the street resting his head on the tire...that's a new one for me...rides were okay today but the wind was pretty brutal coming back and that aggravated my right knee, making it hurt almost all the way back...ick...good evening!

Welp, #myday is progressing better than expected #today. The clouds have been keeping the sun from heating up the day, cutting the anticipated high to only the low 80s .

The air is still stuffy with a distinct smell of dustyness and the irritation of tree pollen. So, it's still preferable to me to stay inside on my comfy couch.

There's still plenty of our leftover Easter dinner first cooked and served on Friday, when the calls from the leg of lamb tempted the wife's taste buds to cook it early.

So, no cooking in the forecast for #today and probably tomorrow too.

I guess I best get back to being busy holding my comfy couch from up n floating away.

Hope y'all are having a terrific Easter weekend and lots of candies from that bunny fellow.
Just be a bit suspicious and watch out for any little piles of "mini chocolates" that might be lying around.

I hid eggs in the backyard this morning (plastic with jelly beans inside, I don’t have *that* kind of money) and while the cellist was out hunting I noticed this one scurrying along our fence—CARRYING A PLASTIC EGG. I stomped towards her, so she stopped, gnawed briefly on the outside of the egg, then hid it between the post and the fence. Here she is staring me down, saying “move along, ape, nothing to see here.” #today #easter #RodentsOfMastodon

I am getting an early start on weekly chores #today since we have evening plans. We are heading over to my mother-in-law's for dinner since they celebrate the holiday.

The weather is gray, around chores and plans, I may continue to work on my home lab. I got cryptpad running yesterday but still need to figure out what sort of proxy I need if any to get it fully accessible and working.

I'm feeling accomplished as my upcoming release is now out for its copy edit. Spent some time yesterday working on the sales blurb & a new book tree graphic. This was the first year since 2022 I haven't released 3 books per year which has been weird. But I've my odd, overly-long 2026 release to keep me busy. Even began a spreadsheet for my 2027 book notes.

Another warm day for my early-morning walk, a little breezy, but that's okay. Tomorrow, they say, will be cooler. I didn't see the deer, but as was only appropriate, I did see some bunnies.

Today I'll probably write a little, but mostly I'm going to relax and rest, play a little with Theo, and finish reading a book.

Have a Happy Easter if you celebrate it, and if you don't, have a happy day anyway.

A new day. A new chance to succeed.

I'm drifting through the motions this morning. Letting habit draw me through the morning with little impetus to do more.

Finding comfort in small things.

Fresh coffee. Warm toast.

Perhaps a walk around the neighborhood when the sun warms up.

My lack of ambition at the moment bothers me not one whit on this traditional day of rest.

Perhaps that's my goal for the day.
