The beginning of this video is difficult to watch, but it highlights one of the reasons we livestream our uncensored rescue reality. Stories like these really illustrate why spaying and neutering is so important.

If this kitten had been born on the farm, she would have died.

Thankfully, that's not how her story will end! She and her four adorable brothers and sisters are all safe, warm and healthy. Celly is a fantastic mama, and we can't wait to see them bloom and grow!

Celestine is part of a colony of 20+ cats we spayed/neutered this year. Mom and babies will also be spayed/neutered, officially ending the cycle of endless pregnancies and overpopulation there!

This is very, very bad news: foot and mouth disease in a German herd of water buffalo.

Last time this spread through my area was 2001; I know many veterinarians who were traumatized by the events around eradicating the outbreak, which included killing entire herds suspected to harbor the disease. It was horrific for animals, vets, farmers.

For all involved, I very much hope this is contained swiftly.

We learned yesterday that our magnificent Tomball's mouth injuries were caused by being shot in the face. He's lived his whole life as a feral cat, and has had to survive so much to still be alive today. While he's still very fearful of humans, we have had a few beautiful moments where we were able to really connect with him.

We don't know if he will ever love us back, but at the very least, we will be able to free him from years of pain. That is a huge win, and we are so grateful to our #TinyVillage for seeing how worthy he is.
