Behind the music:
As I was sitting at the keyboard I came across this chord progression that I rather liked, and it had a Latin feel to it. Inspired by Concierto de Aranjuez and Chick Corea's Spain, I developed it further into a jazz fusion kind of way. The vocals are heavily processed vocoder using text from the 15th century Catalan poet Ausias March. Barcelona is one of my favourite cities and also the name of a shop here that imports all manner of wonderful things from Spain.
I had a lot of fun with the Waves OVox vocoder effect on this track, creating harmonies using the poetic reading in Catalan. The main repeated phrase is 'diré-l que trop en vós" which loosely translates to "I shall say what I find in you". I used the effect again for the glitchy rhythmic melody, processing my own voice making percussive noises.
Now available on BandCamp, coming to streaming in mid-October.
