Cases of #flu and #RSV in #NYC continue to fall, a week or two later than they did last year. Unfortunately, cases and hospitalizatios of #COVID are going up.

I'm going to be pissed if we have a full-blown Spring #COVID19 wave and I have to start moving karaoke online, after months of not singing in person to avoid spreading #influenza and #RSVirus!

While there are meaningful numbers of people being hospitalized for airborne diseases, I #WearAMask in elevators, trains and doctors' offices!

More blood tests today, plus an X-ray. Five nurses, one mask. Three receptionists, none. A dozen patients, none. #WearAMask, you bleeping idiots.

Good news, the X-ray showed what the problem was. Bad, now I have to get an MRI, and a cardiology appointment. So far, I have seven medical appointments in the next two months, and there will be more. ‹sigh›

Couldn't avoid the damned hospital this week for some "specialist" services. I can refuse unsafe care and resign to die at home in the paddock only so far as I do not have advanced diagnostics that may mildly help my wretched quality of life. I was the literal only person, patient, admin or clinician with a respirator. And every single one of those parties had something shitty to say at every turn. I was uncommonly chill, I mean punching them would just get their juice on my nitriles. #WearAMask

And the CDC simultaneously says: TB is spread through the air from one person to another. and then under Prevention (and frankly, anywhere else) they do not say the word #mask.

I mean, they even say:

These germs can stay in the air for several hours, depending on the environment. TB germs are more likely to spread in indoor areas or other places with poor air circulation (such as a closed vehicle) than in outdoor areas. People who breathe in the air become infected with TB.

But they can't actually mention the possibility of #masking. On this page about the causes of TB they discuss if you have active TB disease, meaning you're probably actively contagious, they say "Your health care provider will tell you what steps you can take to keep from spreading TB germs to others". I sure hope "your health care provider" has the sense to say "#WearAMask".

I'd like to know what justification they have to not mention masking.

Tuberculosis (TB)Tuberculosis: Causes and How It SpreadsBy CDC

COVID minimizers have said for years that “if” it was that dangerous we would see increases in other illnesses

We’re at that stage, and no one is talking about it. Deny. Deflect. Obfuscate.

“Other illnesses that weaken the immune system and allow latent TB infections to emerge may also be at play”

Blood and doctor's appointment today. The blood nurse wore a mask. The receptionist and doctor didn't, nor did the two other patients I saw.

#WearAMask #CovidIsNotOver

And I'm getting so old. I already have three medical appointments for May, and I'm supposed to get two more tests that might end up then. I'm going to end up like my father, with some appointment every other week.

People don’t “get” chronic illness until it happens to them or someone they love.

The same goes for preventative health measures. Folks take unnecessary risks believing they’ll be the exception.

When the worst happens, do they adapt?

Some do. But the parents of a Texas child who died of measles don’t fall into that category.

They lost their child and are still recommending parents don’t vaccinate their children. The reason? The other 4 kids had “mild” cases

This is ghastly.

Ugh, #COVID cases and hospitalizations are going UP again in #NYC?

I think it was probably the right call to host karaoke in person last night since flu and RSV cases have been dropping steadily, but I really do not want to see a Spring #COVID19 wave!

Since #COVIDIsNotOver I still #WearAMask in trains, buses, elevators, doctors' offices, pharmacies and supermarkets!

Yesterday before karaoke I took my mom to the doctor and we wore KN95s. I made sure to #MaskUp on the train home from karaoke!
