33 • Majorelle Blue • Exactly a hundred years ago in 1923 the French orientalist painter Jacques Majorelle bought a palm grove in Marrakech. He transformed it into an exotic garden and had a blue painted artist's studio build. After his death, it became an abandoned place. In 1980 it was saved by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent.
