@TanekRune it’s so disappointing because I remember thinking that it’s great that people who can’t go to a therapist could get therapy, I feel so naïve. I’m old and we used to have regulations that we don’t have anymore and I forget that they are gone.
I was so excited to have telehealth in general until they all switched over to Zoom.
I had to quit a specialist at Dartmouth Hitchcock, I was a no-show at the appointment because when I started with them they had their own telehealth link in their portal. Then when I went to attend my next appointment the link was gone and I was supposed to download Zoom, not only was I not doing that, I didn’t realize it in time to do it before the appointment even if I wanted to.
I told them I’m not putting my medical business on Zoom so I guess I can’t be a patient there anymore. Apparently I wasn’t the only one because I received an email recently (a year or two after they made the change) where they were telling all of the patients that they have telehealth through the portal again, not related to #zoom.
None of us agreed to trade our medical privacy for convenience, and it sucks that people who can’t travel to get medical care are forced to.
