@pattykimura but of course she doesn’t care about actual facts: the key here is to leverage transphobic panic to enforce “traditional” stereotypes on women.
what is this? you cannot be saying the main target of the villainizing of trans women is actually... cis women
I don't want to speak for @Colman, but I believe the Republicans might try to use trans women as a stepping stone to reach women in general.
By saying "trans women are not women because women are X, Y, Z...", they can go on and define women, cis women, any way they like and how it best serves them, and that might be the actual goal.
This harms trans women greatly, but they are not necessarily the primary target.
so let me get this straight, the primary target of a campaign intended to "eradicate transgenderism from public life" is cis women?
Attacking LGBT, BIPOC, immigrants... is just a way of rallying every other hateful bigot around one goal: white men in power and white women under control.
Eradicating every other minority group is just a mean to an end.
That's my opinion, as seen from outside the US. I could be wrong, but I don't think they care that much about trans women, they are merely easy targets.
they want both. they want both power and the effective elimination of minorities. they're equal goals for them. this is why its wrong to say that the primary target in this case is cis women, because the primarily goal here is first and foremost, eradicating trans people.
You may be right, I do not claim to be an expert in the nazis playbook.
Let's say that whatever their goals and motives, they have to be opposed and stopped at all cost.
@Colman @pattykimura "the real target of this genocidal bigotry / the real reason it's bad, is that it will effect this other much larger group!" Uh huh, uh huh. No, the actual reason conservatives and TERFs push transphobia is out of digust and the need to control how others live and what they think
