What I've learned on #Mastodon is that the algorithm hurts small creators.
I wish I had realized that sooner because my failures on #Instagram #YouTube and #Twitter felt like a condemnation of the niche content I create.
I never expected to be famous but I figured at least SOME ppl in the world must like #writing streams and old #folkore. I thought maybe I was just bad, but then I came here & quadrupled my average views in a week.
The algorithm was crushing my stuff. I see that now.
