Man from Atlantis (1977) was the first of four successful TV-movies, to be followed by an unsuccessful series. It's a reasonably interesting story about a water-breathing man from Atlantis stuck in the modern world. Features a fine mad scientist.

@MarkMaguire @d4doome I remember how UTV always preceded broadcasts with warning that real people are unable to breathe underwater, even in bath. RTE didn't bother.
@d4doome @IanMoore3000 I’d totally forgotten that. 
I do remember being obsessed with webbed fingers as an adaptation. Also one of the only occasions in the 1970s when a TV hero was called ‘Mark’. I related.
