@bullivant I think the same thing when 2nd amendment right-wingers start go on about how their personal firearms will somehow protect them from the US army if push comes to shove. The state always wins against armed individuals. Even armed civilians self-formed militias will get crushed in a straight fight with the state; they might be able to go underground and wage guerrilla war but I suspect very few people have the stomach for a protracted insurgency.
