Apparently, this is the Telegraph's breaking news logo. This is not a parody.
@bullivant Not struggling to hide their leanings, are they?
@bullivant If only I could remember where I've seen a design like that before.
@bnlandor I know, it seems familiar to me as well but I just can't put my finger on it.
@bullivant I feel like if I don't remember now, I'm going to have the same déjà vu next time around — again.
@bullivant
I used to be graphic designer on a newspaper. I can just imagine the editor briefing the artist... Yes, that's it, red, black, gothic...now tilt it a bit, make it a bit more, you know , yes, that's it!
@bullivant The Daily Mail looks on, saying "That should be ours", we got there first!"
@bullivant Reminiscing about their old Hitlerjugend days I see.
@bullivant Unfortunate
@bullivant that's a little... Teutonic
@bullivant Sweet Simian Zaius
@bullivant "Tomorrow belongs to me"
@thesweetcheat I'll never forget Spitting Images Election NIght Special closing scene on the night after the polls closed in 1987 with this song playing as Thatcher leered into the camera. The analogy between Thatcher's politics and National Socialism was stark.
I would favorite this, but it strongly reminds me of something they taught me in German school long time ago. Wonder what it was. I wish I could remember…hmmm…but it looks so familiar…dunno, must be not that remarkable at all…nevermind.
It wasn't "KRANKENWAGEN!!!", wasn't it?
Still don't get it…
@bullivant _How the hell did no-one notice?!_
@rsynnott Very young, very historically illiterate or very stupid? Or maybe all three?
@bullivant Good grief!
@bullivant what is up with this? what does this even mean?
@edendestroyer I have no idea.
@bullivant This is at best a shocking lack of historical awareness. I fear that for some in the newspaper and among its readers, the fascist associations of this design are actually welcome.
@OranMagal The term Fascism has certainly lost the stigma it once held amongst large parts of the population. Oddly in the UK these are largely the same people who mythologise 'standing alone' against the Nazis.
