Listen, Fortran and Lisp are still there, COBOL is still there, and ReXX is still a thing.
And not just that, but (at least for COBOL!) there is still some serious money to be made if you know how to program them.
It's turtles all the way down, or, at least, mainframes, because nothing new is ever created, we are just recycling the same old bullshit that was created by geniuses 50+ years ago.
