So, late to the party here, but #NixOS accepted sponsorship from Anduril? THAT Anduril?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anduril_Industries
"Anduril Industries, Inc. is an American defense technology company that specializes in advanced autonomous systems. It was founded in 2017 by inventor Palmer Luckey with investors and founders associated with Palantir and SpaceX."
Oooooh boy, I kinda understand why some people are upset. This reads like the Ultimate techbro company...
I mean, come on: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palmer_Luckey#Political_views
@ParadeGrotesque Can I recommend #talos
Guix or bust, baby.
@ParadeGrotesque I'm not going to outlive scheme, am I?
Listen, Fortran and Lisp are still there, COBOL is still there, and ReXX is still a thing.
And not just that, but (at least for COBOL!) there is still some serious money to be made if you know how to program them.
It's turtles all the way down, or, at least, mainframes, because nothing new is ever created, we are just recycling the same old bullshit that was created by geniuses 50+ years ago.
