I have somehow inherited an Athlon 64 CPU.
Is there any use in these? Recommendations?
@richardtroupe Other than triggering waves of "ooh, the first gaming rig I built had one of those" nostalgia in people like me? :)
I'd glue a stick onto the flat surface with the text on. Then, when it has solidified, you can use it as a device for scratching the hard-to-get-to places on your back.
You're welcome
@oz1tmm Haha! I've installed it on a spare socket 7 motherboard for now. I'll need to get a PSU for it to try it though.
If that doesn't work, then a backscratcher it is!
Wasn't Socket 7 for intel pentiums?
@oz1tmm The board it was in was a socket 7.
"Winter is coming"
Keep it safe for the the next winter. If the heating fails, just keep this little guy doing its job
@richardtroupe fine hair comb
@richardtroupe Hobby material: if you have the time and want you could get all the other pieces and make a nice 2004 PC. Like restoring old cars, but cheaper
@luigirenna It can join the rest then.
@richardtroupe I see. I was preaching to the choir
@luigirenna Haha! It's all good! I've just never used an Athlon 64 before and was looking for some insight.
@richardtroupe last time I used one was some 20 years ago, I am sorry I have no better insight!
