@nichorra I totally know what your describing and theres an uncanny valleyness to it I find very jarring.
I think its partly due to the fact we never really decolonised ourselves as country so we are more susceptible to americanisation.

I've been semi-jokingly, semi-seriously, using the phrase bord failteifcation to describe this weird tourist gentrification occuring in my town and county, but now you have me thinking that needs to be placed in part of a wider cultural context.
