So I tried out the nonogram dude's android app and the controls are baffling and I gave up when it tried to be clever with zoom, so back to the good old fashioned Simon Tatham puzzle collection for me.
Tapping a second time gives you blank, dragging only works in the line you started. Intuitive.
@triploidtree
Can I also recommend Slitherlink?
It's very similar to 'Loopy'.
@dec23k thanks! Loopy is one of the ones I still haven't wrapped my head around
@triploidtree
I haven't played the two side by side, but I think the puzzles and shape options are similar. I just find Slitherlink to be easier on the eyes, even though I generally prefer Simon's version of most of the other games in that collection. And I really like the whole "not reinventing the wheel" approach.
Slitherlink is free and (last time I checked) ad-free. It doesn't have a "solve it now" option, but the early levels were simple enough for me to figure most of it out.
@mirabilos the one and only! It's been around as a collection quite some time...
@triploidtree my first download on every new device I get
@xanna it's just so good!
@triploidtree if you want a decent free nonogram game on Android, PixelPuzzle is pretty good. Despite being a recent Konami product, it doesn't have excessive or intrusive ads, and if you play in airplane mode you bypass ads entirely.
@narpoleptic I'll check that out. Cheers
