Wow. This email from a UK hospital instructs healthcare workers not to test for COVID because it might keep them out of work for longer. What happened to "do no harm"?

Email:Staff should not be testing for COVID-19 The IPC team have been receiving many reports of staff testing positive for Covid. • In line with national guidance, staff should NOT be taking LFDs. • Instead, they should respond to their own symptoms and stay at home if they feel unwell. • Testing for Covid can result in having to remain at home for longer than their symptoms persist. @luckytran The healthcare advice in Ireland was Do not return to work until 48 hours after symptoms have resolved. They also said don’t test - maybe LFTs don’t pick up on every variant? - but the advice pertained to EVERY illness. I thought it pretty sensible actually.
