Welcome to Mary Lavin Place!

Ireland has so many unsung women heroes and this is a nice way to remember them, invoking our curiosity and keeping their work and memories alive. I'd like to see more placenames and landmarks named after them in Dublin and beyond!

@HazelChu I'd love the statue of Constance Markievicz and her dog Poppet moved up to the corner where Rathmines Library is - that was her stamping ground; she lived up the road and often cycled around that corner with her Fianna boys

@sinabhfuil or maybe another statue of her, with her bicycle!

@HazelChu The irony of naming part of an IPUT real estate scheme after a woman who so publically advocated against the development of Fitzwilton Place offices on the site during her lifetime. Seems like she would have hated every bit of it. irishtimes.com/culture/books/w #MaryLavin #IPUT
