To people ag that are frustrated with the number of possible words to use (or ways to use them) for almost anything.

I know it can feel chaotic, and that can be daunting, but I'd like to put forth a way of thinking about the language that my grandmother told me when I was no more than 8.

isn't a manual that you are handed, it's a heavy notebook that has slang and screwed up humor and sadness and pain and proclamations of love and joy.

It can be hard to read in spots and some of it you will never fully understand if you lived a hundred years (wtf do these two little things next to each other have to do with each other).

But if you spend time with this strange and fascinating book that so many of the people that made you also touched, it can be extremely fullfilling

isn't a rulebook, it's a giant art portfolio that was made by the hands that likely loved you into this world and will/would well after.

Don't be daunted by the fact that multiple artists are represented in the same book... curate passion for the way that some people work and let yourself explore that at your own pace and in your own personal way.

Do you like the way this person speaks because it is super easy to understand?
Or do you prefer the flowery poetic ideomatic artists? 💚

Do you love the FEEL of "Cén chaoi bhfuil tú?" over "conas atá tú?"

Use it. 💚

Do you love the CONVENIENCE of how infrequently you need to repeat yourself when you say "conas atá tú?"

Use it. 💚

Because at the end of the day, this is your notebook too. And people are going to not get some of what you add, but it will be yours, and you are in this book too. 💚
