Ballymun right now.
I never thought we’d see something like this in Ireland. It got very close to the building being attacked.
Imagine being inside with your children.
This is not Ireland.
This is not what we stand for.
These people need to stopped and the lies deconstructed
This is the beginnings of the far right gaining a foothold & it is tragic.
To these protesters I say, you are protesting the wrong people.
Not one person in that building is affecting your quality of life- those that do that are in much more powerful positions
If you don’t have a house, it is because of housing system starved of resources, not migrants fleeing persecution, dire economic conditions and just trying to build some sort of life here in Ireland #CeadMileFailte https://twitter.com/realmessageeire/status/1612153068971298816?s=61&t=aeeaz5l0HlTMLphz77nfQQ
Still keep thinking about this- if even half of those protests moved from the Refugee centre to Leinster house, then we might actually start to get some solutions to the real problem- the dire state of housing and public services #BallymunProtest
@ashstronge the reason is extreme right like national party, freedom party, want to focus ire on migrants/refugees and ferment social division - and have no interest in making it a political protest at Leinster House. It's an old rule book they are playing.
@ashstronge fascism is not an idea, is a crime. It should have been treated like that. If ou let them speak and gain followers that's what happens.
