Hello mastodon, is Brazil (1985) good? I've not had much Gilliam exposure and it sounds like my bag.
@silo64 it's very good, but also quite weird, and quite heavy. Definitely worth watching, but make sure you have the mental and emotional space for that, light watching it is not.

It's also hilarious and thoughtful, so there's that. And an important piece of film history, methinks.

@silo64 It's ... unusual. If you're looking for ''a bit weird' then you've certainly come to the right place 
@silo64 it's incredible, but if you're new to Terry Gilliam's work, I'd look at 12 Monkeys first.
@silo64 I _love_ it but I don’t know if it would be my recommended jumping-off point for Gilliam. He’s got a whimsy and a chaotic energy that can really rub people the wrong way. Coupled with a grim 1984-like story and it’s cinematic marmite. Munchausen is that same vibe in a more approachable story.
