A question for the #MechanicalKeyboard types, is there a homebrew mouse equivalent? Ergonomic? Better buttons? That class of thing?
@triploidtree ploopy is generally the project pointed to for this.
@petejohanson Awesome, thanks for the lead
@triploidtree @petejohanson: Yep, https://ploopy.co/ came to my mind, too. And for the Thinkpad and thumbstick fans, there's https://tex.com.tw/ — they have ready made keyboards as well as DIY kits.
And then there's the MNT Reform and MNT Pocket Reform (https://mntre.com/), in case you want a whole laptop with mechanical keyboard and QMK-programmable trackball with mechanical buttons.
@xtaran @petejohanson Cheers! Never been a big Thinkpad button fan, though the pop of red is nice. I'm the sort of person who always brings a mouse, touchpads are terrible, and a wired mouse too so when going from office to office when it falls it dangles rather than skitters off :)
@triploidtree trackballs, basically. I have two - one where my thumb drives the trackball and another where my pointer & index fingers do. I switch between them every few months when I start to not like how my fingers are feeling. imo standard mice that you move by flicking your wrist should be illegal lol
