Feels nice to finally get to use one of the domains I've purchased over the years. And even better to code it all from zero. Now to build it up!
https://propag8.org
v0.1.0 is deployed now. Added a new page with a tentative list of organisations that will qualify. Also fixed some issues with overall formatting.
Building like ants
#propag8
Until I finish up the last touches of the next minor version, which will include a catalogue of all plants that will be available, I just fixed some minor issues with the template and wording in v0.2.4
v0.3.0 of #propag8 is finally out! I've included the (tentative*) catalogue that will be available when the site goes fully operative next Spring.
*tentative in case the number of plants increases, other growers in the area join this initiative or, what's most likely, any species/variant dies on me between now and Spring.
@vmaldosan@defcon.social adding a backend of ExpressJS + MongoDb. The basic API is almost ready, but after many hours of try and error, I couldn't figure out how to include a Map as a property of users. Today I switched from the official NodeJS client to Mongoose and it works!
@vmaldosan@defcon.social While I keep looking for a place to host the back-end, I switched from Netlify to Surge for the current static version of #propag8
Until I finish up the DNS configuration, the site will be accessible via https://questionable-cattle.surge.sh
@vmaldosan@defcon.social The free version of surge was quite limited, especially for custom domains.
So I signed up for @UpCloud and, after some tinkering during the free trial week, today I managed to set up the static site of #propag8 in 85.9.214.179
Now to wait for the DNS to propagate (no pun intended)
Btw, if anyone wants to give @UpCloud a try, you can use my referral link https://signup.upcloud.com/?promo=983XP2 and get 25 € credit
@vmaldosan@defcon.social Maybe, hopefully, I managed to find a DNS configuration that is finally working? http://propag8.org and http://www.propag8.org seem loading when I open them from a private session. Next will be configuring the SSL certs for https, wish me luck
