@matt303 @witewulf got a streammagic many years ago and ended up using it as a DAC from raspberry picoreplayer as the #cambridgeaudio software was dreadful and couldn’t cope with my music library and took an age to load before I could play a track
@vnvobit i bought a PiDAC years ago, but couldn’t find a software front end I got on with. I think I tried volumio and RuneAudio at the time.
@vnvobit that was accessing an smb share, rather than a proper library, though. Now I have all my music in Plex (which is accessible via upnp) I may give it another go.
@witewulf I double up as run both LMS and Plex on the same music library. LMS for playing in the house, Plexamp when I am away
@vnvobit I’ve been really impressed with Plexamp, it’s a feature they should make more noise about. The UI is quirky, for sure, but it does a great job
@witewulf not sure why but is better than iPeng (iOS squeezebox controller/player) at streaming to HomePods. If I switch track in iPeng I get some strange noises but never from plexamp
