A friend shared this making-of video for a previous project from the same ditector, Alberto Mielgo, for the #Netflix Love, Death, and Robots series. In it, Mielgo explains how they used the same process for it—filming live action, then wrapping it all in CG, including CG environments

Anyone know if #Bungie has discussed the making of the #Marathon cinematic trailer? Specifically how much of it is live action? I suspect we’re watching human actors, Jess is convinced it’s CG over mo-cap. I can’t tell how much of the sets and scenery is CG either

I liked the connections they made between established characters and the events in the upcoming game. Even made a strong case for who the voiceover is in the live-action short
I don’t expect to get into Marathon; not my kind of genre. But I enjoy the heckin out of #Bungie’s world building

Ich bin ehrlich gesagt ziemlich gespannt auf das neue #Marathon von #Bungie ich kann Sorgen verstehen, weils ein Extraction Shooter wird, aber die Sache ist: die originale Marathonreihe hatte die Story auch nicht wie eine klassische Singleplayererfahrung erzählt; und durch riesige Level laufen und (genial geschriebene) Terminals lesen? Das geht auch in einem Extraction Shooter. Gerade dieses indirekte Storytelling in dem man sich viel zusammenpuzzelt sollte machbar sein in diesem Genre

Still disappointed that Bungie's Marathon is wasting that franchise's opportunity for rebirth on an PVP extraction shooter / live service thing.
Marathon, with all its lore, was absolutely begging for a story-driven single-player epic.
I have never really been a gamer, but about once a decade I get addicted to a videogame & play it obsessively. The original “Marathon” was one such, in large part because of its clever storytelling & wry humor.
Will the reboot be my addiction for the 2020s?

It's definitely giving me Concord 2 vibes.
The chat is overwhelmingly negative, and the gameplay looks like it's tailored for streamers and mtx.
The art would be neat in something like a PvPvE No Man's Sky type proc-gen space game, but I just don't see this being a successful as is.
